Description: The soda can separating bot is being tested with six cans on a full length board, it gets lost sometimes. This angle shows how the IR aiming beam can be seen as it gets bounced off of the target cans. Too bad the NXT does not have a good general purpose sensor interface, you can only use what Lego provides (unless you hack into the cables to add some standard Sharp IR sensors like I did here). I suppose that a broader capture arm would work with u-sonic as long as everything were perfectly aligned, but I wanted a real world solution where things have to found not just stumbled over. |
