Description: All the vids of people doing figure skating jumps off ice made me feel a little less crazy for doing the same. I play around with toe loop, salchow, axel and flip. It's been a while since I've done these on hardwood (actually it's been a while since I've done them period), but I plan to work back up to triples... And I'm straight (lol I know that shouldn't matter, but I feel compelled to say it anyway. You're under no obligation to believe me! :-D) |

skatingblade ::: Favorites 2007-10-23 20:51:19 nuh-huh =O that was amazing. you do that on the ice? __________________________________________________
Arinozian ::: Favorites 2007-10-25 13:13:55 hell no. I've never owned a pair of figure skates. I'd be willing to try if I could ever afford it, but I'm already 21, so not likely. I used to be able to do a triple triple on the ground though. __________________________________________________
5fiftyfive ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 20:28:05 With an axel you take off from a forward outside edge and its 1.5 rotations in the air, with a salchow you take off on a backward inside edge and its 1 rotation. Double axel = 2.5 rotations, double salchow = 2 rotations __________________________________________________
5fiftyfive ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 20:54:32 Good job on the jumps! Now you know what us figure skaters do in our spare time!! LOL. You did 3 different jumps, an axel, a double toe loop, and a double flip (if you changed your lean and were on an outside edge, it would have been a double lutz). Now try to do the double loop! You jump the opposite way of most skaters, so stand on your left foot (right foot in front), bend and jump clockwise. Its not a toe jump... have fun! __________________________________________________
BalletCava ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 22:34:29 ok..though it's still abit a 'blur' concept to me coz i've just started figure skating only, i understand it a bit.i'll try them on ice, to get to know the difference better. thanks!-taken note of the direction, edge and number of turns. =D __________________________________________________
ChatrboxCB ::: Favorites 2007-11-26 03:10:07 good job with the jumps __________________________________________________ |
