Elliot s use of metaphors are especially poignant in this song. His choice of melody and harmonizing somber voice add a quality that I have rarely experienced from a song and singer/ songwriter. This is presuming his end of life was in fact a suicide rather than a murder. His death still remains unknown. Vamphaery ::: Favorites I've always thought one of the most poignant things about his songs - whether he admitted it or not (and I'm not saying I'm definitely correct in this interpretation) - is that songs like this & St. Ides Heaven seem to describe an almost spiritual euphoria derived from drug use.
