Description: I struggled with this video a lot. Originally focusing the attention of Amalthea/Lir and that was my problem. Only when I realized the video wasn't about Lir at all, or at least very little, did it finally flow. "My Immortal" is the Unicorn. Amalthea struggles with the immortal side of herself. And who she really is. Her memories of how she helped Schmendrick and Molly as a unicorn, and her realization, she can no longer heal or defend as a mortal human. This was her struggle. She tries to rid herself of the unicorn, but it haunts her still, before she finally embraces it. The reason for the butterfly, "Your voice has chased all the sanity in me", she was happily living alone and "sane", the butterfly told her about the other unicorns, prompting her to go on the suicide mission to find them, so a bit of her blames him. the upcoming special edition DVD.
