Description: I originally had created this as a Powerpoint show for my family's Relay for Life back in 2006. Problem was, it was a royal pain in the butt to make the Powerpoint work right every time it was transferred to a different computer. So...I recreated it as a video (it's basically the same as the Powerpoint...with some minor changes). My mom, Sheri Blackshire, lost her battle against cancer on April 20th, 2003. This is being uploaded to help spread the word about cancer and to help spread hope to those battling it. It also has a special meaning to me due to recent problems with the organization of our family's last Relay for Life. Our team placed 2nd in 2007, but due to some issues that shafted us out of a lot of money, our team would have placed 1st. My family was really bummed out about this and have been discussing not even bothering to raise money at this year's event (but instead, just doing it in memory of my mom and other family members who lost the battle against cancer). This video is to remind them that without the money we raise every year, more people are going to go through what my mom did and it's up to us to find a cure. While recognition is wonderful, it should not be our number one priority...finding a cure for cancer should. When my mom was battling cancer, she kept a website up-to-date about what all she went through (with lots of pictures too).
